Rules:
  • Same Horse/Rider combination entering walk/jog/trot classes 412-417 and/or 433-439 may not
         enter classes 420-428, or classes 443-452.
  • Professionals entering any Horsemanship/Equitation classes must ride without a back number
         and will receive Judge’s Comments Only.
  • Professional are not eligible for Year End Awards.
  • Classes 442-444 Hunter Hack: Exhibitors and other volunteers are asked to set up. Two sets of standards and jump poles are by the fence on the outside of A Ring. Please pitch in and keep your classes going.

DAILY HIGH POINT RULES:
  • High point will not be awarded unless there are at least 4 entries in each of the performance classes.
         Must show in a minimum of 3 classes per division to be eligible for High Point. Points from all eligible              classes will count towards Daily High Point total.

Ribbons ONLY in classes with less than 3 entrants

Pleasure Series Rules and Class Descriptions

High Point Categories – Daily and Year End

Halter (Novice):
Must show in 407 plus a minimum of two from classes 401-406 and 410
Halter (17 & Under):
Must show in 408 plus a minimum of two classes 401-406 and 410
Halter (adult):
Must show in 409 plus a minimum of two from classes 401-406 and 410

Walk/Jog (17 & Under):
Must show in 412 and 415 plus a minimum of one from classes 414, 417, 430
Walk/Jog (adult):
Must show in 413 and 416 plus a minimum of one from classes 414, 417, 430

Pre-Western:
Must show in 418 and 419 plus a minimum of one from 414, 417, 430

Western Pleasure (Novice):
Must show in 422 and 426 plus a minimum of one from classes 420 or 421, 425, 431 or 432
Western Pleasure (17 & Under):
Must show in 423 and 427 plus a minimum of one from classes 420 or 421, 425, 431
Western Pleasure (Adult):

English (Adult):

Classes for Horses of a Certain Age:
Horse’s age is determined as of January 1st.

Grooming:
To be shown in hand. To be judged on grooming details and condition. Horses should be of proper weight, properly cleaned and clipped. Will be asked to walk, jog/trot. While in line up horses should be mannerly and stand quietly for Judge’s inspection.

Halter Classes:
To be shown in hand. To be judged on: way of going, soundness, confirmation, manners, and proper weight. Horses should be groomed to breed specifications. Will be asked to walk, jog/trot and line up. Handlers should be properly attired. Horses are to be shown in a lead shank of adequate length and strength.

Color:
Must be color breed (Paint, Pinto, Palomino, Appaloosa or Buckskin). To be shown in hand. To be judged on brilliance of color or contrast. Will be asked to walk and line up.

Model Hunter:
To be shown in hand in a bridle with the exhibitor in proper English Attire. To be judged on confirmation, soundness and way of going. Horses under 2 years of age may be shown in halter.

Novice:
These classes are for exhibitors who have not won 5 blue ribbons. Ribbons won in this division during this show season do not affect your status for the year. Exhibitor may stay in this division for the whole year.

Showmanship At Halter:
To be judged on handler’s ability to exhibit the horse to the best advantage. Handlers will be required to
demonstrate proper showmanship and safety. May be asked to answer questions asked by the judge.

Lead Line:
Riders may not enter any other riding class on the weekend of the show in which they exhibit in lead line.

English/Western Pleasure:
To be judged on performance and ability to give a good pleasure ride with emphasis on manners

Equitation/Horsemanship:
To be judged on seat, hands, guidance and control of Horse/Pony. Pattern may be asked for by the judge
and/or may be asked to back.

Walk/Jog & Walk/Trot Classes:
Open to riders with age restriction as specified in class list or by novice specifications. Riders to walk
and trot/jog both ways of the ring.

Pre-Western Classes & Pre-English Classes:
This is for riders just learning to lope/canter. Rider can cross enter into Walk/Jog, Walk/Trot Classes, but no other lope/canter classes.

Trail First Year Horse/Novice Rider:
This class is an introduction to a Trail class. The class is open to both green trail horse and the novice rider. This class is open to English and Western riders and will only have four (4) to six (6) simple obstacles. It will be judged on the performance of the horse over obstacles with emphasis on manners, response to the rider, and attitude. This class is a walk/jog/trot only.

Trail 17 & Under/Adult:
This class will be judged on the performance of the horse over obstacles with emphasis on manners, response
to the rider, and attitude. Horse shall be penalized for any unnecessary delay while approaching the obstacles. Credit will be given to those horses negotiating the obstacles with style, providing that carefulness is not sacrificed. Credit will be giving to horses showing capability of picking their way through courses when obstacles warrant it, and willingly responding to rider’s cues on more difficult obstacles.

Hunter Hack:
To be judged on the flat and over two 12” x rail, 2’ & 2’6” fences.
