A-RING Rules and Class Description
December & April are double point shows.
Must show 4 of 6 regular season shows to qualify for Year End Awards.
All Hunter under saddle classes - To walk, trot, and canter both ways of the ring. To be judged on performance and way of going, with emphasis on manners and suitability to rider.
All Equitation on the Flat - To walk, trot and canter both ways of the ring. To be judged on hands, seat, guidance and control.
Pre-Short/Long Stirrups Divisions (101, 102, 103) - This division is intended for the horse/rider combination that is starting to canter over fences. Riders may trot into the first fence in the line, but they must canter out the line. Trotting the entire course will be penalized.
Pre-Short/Long Stirrup Hunter Over Fences (102, 103) - Open to all ages. Will jump a simple course of 5 to 8 fences at 18". To be judged on manners, suitability and way of going. Same Horse/Rider combination mayonly also show in classes 104, 105, 106 and 220-230
Pre-Short/Long Stirrups Equitation Over Fences (104, 105, 106) - Open to all ages. Will jump a simple course of 5 to 8 fences at 18". To be judged on hands, seat, guidance and control. These Riders may only also show in classes 101,102,103 and 220-230
Short/Long Stirrups Hunter Division (107, 108, 109) - Open to all ages. Will jump a simple course of 6-9 fences at 18". To be judged on manners, suitability and way of going. Simple lead changes not to be penalized. Same Horse/Rider Combination may show in classes 110, 111, 112, but may NOT show in classes 101- 106, B-Ring, or any other over fences classes that day.
Short/Long Stirrups Equitation Division (110, 111, 112) - Open to all ages. Will jump a course of 6-9 fences at 18". To be judged on hands, seat, guidance and control. Simple lead changes not to be penalized. Same Rider may show in classes 107, 108, 109 but may NOT show in 101 – 106, B-Ring, or any other over fences classes that day.
113WNH - This is a warm up class for the novice divisions. Trophy and ribbons only. No points for divisions. Year-end class awards only.
Novice Divisions (114-119) - Open to Riders that have not won 5 Blue ribbons in classes over jumps at 2' or higher. Ribbons won in these Divisions do not affect your status for the year. Rider may stay in these divisions for the show series. Ribbons won in novice flat classes do not affect status in novice classes over fences. However, ribbons won in novice classes over fences do affect rider's status in flat classes.
Novice Rider Hunter Over Fences (114, 115, 116) - Open to all ages. Simple lead changes not to be penalized. Will jump a course at 2' (no oxers). To be judged on manners, suitability and way of going.
Novice Rider Equitation over Fences (117, 118, 119) - Open to all ages, riders that have not won 5 Blue ribbons at 2’ or higher. Simple lead changes not to be penalized. Will jump a course at 2' (no oxers). To be judged on hands, seat, guidance and control.
Green Hunter Division (315, 316, 317) - Open to all ages including Professionals/Trainers. For Horses who are in their 1st or 2nd year of showing. Trotting not to be penalized. Same Rider/Horse combination may enter any 2 ft division. Judged on manners and way of going. To be shown over a course at 2'. No Combinations.
Attention Trainers/Riders/Parents: Pre-S/L Stirrups will split at 16 or at the Ring Steward's discretion to alleviate conflicts with Ring B. Trainers who have Riders/Horses in the 1st divisions in Ring B will ride the 1st split in Ring A. Trainers with Ring conflicts must contact the Ring Steward in Ring A by 8:45AM.
